Dr. King Henry Nunn, III was born in 1910 to King Henry Nunn, II and Cora Woods Nunn of Tucker, Jefferson, County, Arkansas. Nunn was a dentist, businessman, coach, teacher and principal. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical, and Normal College in Pine Bluff, Jefferson County, Arkansas, he attended graduate study at Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia and Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1949. He was a member of the Blytheville Chamber of Commerce Executive Board, Eastern Arkansas Planning and Development Commission, Mississippi County Community College Board, Mississippi County Hospital Board of Directors, National Dental Association, Arkansas Medical, Dental and Pharmaceutical Association, Bethel A.M.E. Church, Blytheville Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and the Blytheville Air Force Base Community Council. He married Helen R. Nunn in 1948, who became a professor at Memphis State University. They had two children, King H. Nunn, IV, of Blytheville and Attorney Robinson S. Nunn of Reston, Fairfax County, Virginia. Dr. King Henry Nunn, III died on June 24, 1981 in Memphis, Shelby County, Arkansas.
